The CEO of Icelandair criticized in an interview with the media yesterday, 6 March 2024, that the VR Negotiations Committee has decided to hold a vote on a call to strike among VR's members who work in Icelandair's passenger and baggage services at Keflavík Airport. The CEO said that only one meeting had been held where demands had been introduced, and nothing more.

The VR Election Committee hereby advertises a general secret vote on a call to strike which will apply to all jobs at Icelandair's passenger and baggage services at Keflavík Airport carried out according to the special wage agreement between SA (Confederation of Icelandic Enterprise) for Icelandair at Keflavík Airport and VR, valid from 1 November 2022 to 31 January 2024.

At its meeting last night, VR's negotiations committee agreed to hold a vote on strike action among VR's members who work in Icelandair's passenger and baggage services at Keflavík Airport. This is Icelandair staff who handle, among other things, check-in, bag reception, boarding and lost luggage services for Icelandair and other airlines.
