Union Activities
I have nearly 20 years of experience as a shop steward. I am a member of the VR Consultative Council and the Representative Council of the Pension Fund of Commerce.
I have board experience, having served on the Board of the Suðurnesja Employees' Association (STFS). I have attended ASÍ and LÍV congresses.
Additionally, I have been a member of the Suðurnes Search and Rescue Team since 2014, though I am currently inactive and not on call.
I believe my experience equips me well to continue advocating for improvements and the well-being of all VR members.
Key Focus Areas
My goal is to make VR a leading force in the fight for the rights and welfare of all members, regardless of age, profession, or background.
I want to advocate for:
- Workplace equality, ensuring that all members enjoy the same rights and opportunities.
- A shorter workweek and the development of work arrangements that meet the changing needs of society, to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
- Increased support for continuing education, so members can adapt to technological changes and new challenges in the labor market.
- Improved employment terms, with a focus on ensuring that wages and other working conditions reflect actual contributions and provide a decent standard of living.
- More grants for psychological services, to support mental well-being and health.
I firmly believe that through a united effort, we can create a society where everyone is valued, and no one is left behind. Dear VR members, I ask for your support to carry out this important work.
