Experience in Union Activities
I have been a VR member since the age of 15, when I started working with shopping carts at Hagkaup in Kringlan, followed by stocking and sales in the produce department. I served on the VR Consultative Council from 2012 to 2023 and have been a union representative at my workplace since 2020.
I work in an international environment at CCP Games, where my fellow union representative and I have, over the past few years, strived to provide support and assistance to all our colleagues, regardless of their union affiliation. In my opinion, this has proven to be highly beneficial—helping colleagues, whether they are VR members or not, and strengthening the union’s presence and reputation. I believe collaboration between unions is highly valuable.
Key Focus Areas
I have been a VR member for many years and am now offering my skills and experience to the board for the first time. I believe it is important to bring fresh perspectives into the board in this election, where members select seven representatives from the fifteen who make up the VR board.
I believe VR should continue to be a pioneer in serving its members and strive to improve even further. The union must operate in tune with the times and use its influence and resources to safeguard wages, career development opportunities, and the well-being of its members.
I will advocate for the union to be a strong representative for all its members, including retail workers as well as those in technology, innovation, and general office jobs. I want to see the union become even stronger in consumer affairs, as these issues affect us all.
I want to work for VR members and gain deeper insight into the union’s operations. I am ready to contribute my efforts and ideas for the benefit of all members.
