Workplace, job title and education
I have been working at Ikea since 2007, or about 17 years. During this time, I have been the regional manager of the interior design department, which involves a lot of communication with both colleagues and customers. The job requires solution-oriented thinking, and I have made a special effort to adopt this. Currently, I work as an interior design specialist. Before I began working for IKEA, I worked for many years in film development at Bókabúðin Úlfarsfell, but apart from that, I’m not much for changing jobs. I attended the Agricultural University at Hólar í Hjaltadal.
Experience in community engagement
Elected to the Board of VR in 2019. This is an experience that has given me good insight into the work done at VR. Community work is my passion, and I have been an active participant in ASÍ Assemblies and LÍV Assemblies. I am on the Appointment Committee of VR and the Representative Council of the pension fund. I have also actively participated in the majority of courses that VR has offered.
Main focuses
The most important thing is that the members can trust that the union has their interests at heart and works with determination for their well-being in work and pension issues. Retail staff is very important to me.
