Tax Increases on Wage Earners Are Off the Table
No party running for Alþingi plans to increase taxes on regular wage earners, according to responses from political parties to VR's questions. However, all parties except Vinstri græn (VG) declined to clarify whether increased fees or charges might be considered.
VR sent all political parties questions regarding their stance on austerity policies and the economic measures they would implement if elected. VR has analyzed the responses from parties running in all constituencies, finding that advocates for austerity policies exist across the Icelandic political spectrum.
