VR encourages all members to participate in the rally and outdoor meetings on International Workers´ Day on May 1st! 

VR Family Run at Klambratún

In Reykjavík, we’ll start the day with a light jog and a family-friendly program at Klambratún, hosted by singer and entertainer Jónsi, at 11:30 AM.

Árni Beinteinn and Sylvía Erla from Bestu lög barnanna will kick things off before the Family Run, a 1.5 km route around the park. Participation is free, and all participants will receive a medal.

The VÆB group will be on site, and the Hringleikur Circus Arts Association will also be present. We will offer cheese rolls, juice, and soda.

VR's Labour Day coffee and rally in Reykjavík

In Reykjavík, we will gather at Skólavörðuholt at 1:00 PM to march with Jónsi and the Workers’ Marching Band towards Skólavörðuholt where we will join other unions for the march which starts at 1:30 PM. The march takes us to Ingólfstorg, where the rally will be held. At 2:30 PM, VR invites all members to the unions's annual Labour Day coffee in the lobby of Laugardalshöll.

More details on the program in Reykjavík and other VR regions will be announced later.
